FRACTINT: Fractal Generator Binaries
Version: 18.2
Author: Stone Soup Group.
Bert Tyler the original author can be reached via
Email at [73477,433] on CompuServe (CIS) i.e. on InterNet
73477.433@compuserve.com.
Timothy Wegner CIS: 71320,675
Mark Peterson CIS: 70441,3353
Pieter Branderhorst CIS: 72611,2257
State: Fractint is freeware.
The copyright is retained by the Stone Soup Group.
Text: FRACTINT plots and manipulates images of "objects" --
actually, sets of mathematical points -- that have fractal
dimension. Fractal geometry is a discipline named and
popularized by mathematician Benoit Mandelbrot.
The name FRACTINT was chosen because the program generates
many of its images using INTeger math, rather than
the floating point calculations used by most such programs.
Fractint works with many adapters and graphics modes from
CGA to the 1024x768, 256-color XGA mode.
For a demonstration of some of Fractint's features, run the
demonstration file included with this release (DEMO.BAT) by
typing "demo" at the DOS prompt. You can stop the demon-
stration at any time by pressing <Esc>.
Fractint is an experiment in collaboration. Many volunteers
have joined Bert Tyler, the program's first author, in
improving successive versions. For further details consult
the manual.
FRASRC: Fractal Generator Sources
Version: 18.2
Author: Stone Soup Group.
State: Freeware. The copyright is retained by the Stone Soup Group.
Text: These are the Sources of FRACTINT 18.2 in C and Assembler.
This may be not very interesting for most of the users,
but it is extremely interesting for those who are
programming themselves. Ports to ATARI, AMIGA or Macintosh
would be highly appreciated. So don't wait any longer...
FRACXTRA: Fractint Extras Collection
Version: 4.0, 2/29/93 release.

Email: daniel_goldwater@brown.edu
State: Shareware/Freeware/PD collection
Text: FracXtra is a huge collection of .map, .par, .frm, .ifs,
.l, .key, and .bat files, as well as some small external
programs for the best fractal generator ever made, Fractint,
by the Stone Soup Group. Version 17 or higher of fractint is
needed for some of the files in this collection.
MAKMAP: Makemap Utility
Author: Ron Barnett
CIS: 70153,1233
State: Freeware.
Text: Make 256 color MAPs for Fractint! Requires Windows 3.1.
A 256 color (or greater) card and monitor is preferred.
This program has no setup utility. The author recommends
you place MAKEMAP.EXE in your Fractint directory, BWCC.DLL
in your Windows\System directory, and MAKEMAP.HLP.
Alternatively, all files can be placed in the same
directory.

State: Public Domain
Text: ANIFRA is a small utility for generating bat and parameter
files for fractal animations. This program only creates
input to FRACTINT, it does not generate fractals itself.
